Valentino was a stray dog that was hit by a car and taken into my vet’s other location in Buckeye. While I was at the Vet’s office on Bear’s last day, I had told our doctor that Koa was going to have a hard time without Bear. She then told me about Valentino. My first reaction was no way, I don’t want a new puppy right now, especially one with a fake hip and broken femur. After a few days of watching Koa mope around the house and not eat on his own, I called Dr. Johnson and asked her more about Valentino. My biggest concern was whether or not Koa would be okay with him. I took Koa to meet him the next day and they seemed okay with each other, so we brought him home. There was a bit of a rough start since Koa really wanted Bear, but Valentino has now grown on him and he is showing him the ropes.
